Rebuilding axles, drive shafts and drivetrain components is something we do all the time here at Specialty Jeeps. We do alot of axle rebuilds that have already been rebuilt by individuals. It takes an expert to be able to rebuild an axle you just don't put the new gears in and expect it to work. There is a procedure to making sure all the gears and components are installed correctly along with special tools to accomplish the rebuild. The internal components must be shimmed to perfection in order for the axle to perform correcly and here at Specialty Jeeps we insure every axle is rebuilt to the factory specifications or to the gear ratio the customer desires.
